About Me
My name is Christina Svenstrup. I live in Denmark with my boyfriend Simon and our two Maine Coon cats Cazzandra and Durango.
I have always loved teddy bears and got a huge collection. We can barely go to the city without I have to go and pick up a new cute creature, that I without any problems can figure out where can have a place at home. Luckily Simon doesn't mind at all :)
The first bear was made in October 2007 from a kit that I bought. Soon after I designed my first own pattern and now I'm only creating bears from my own patterns. One of the most fun challenges in bear making is creating the right face and expression, so that the bear you are designing comes to life in the way you want to. I also enjoy working with the different variants of mohair and alpaca, just too se how much it can change the personality of the individual bear. Almost all my bears are 100 % sewn by hand and mostly made of mohair.
Next to bear making I love drawing - especially dogs and cats. When I can find time and peace for it I also love playing the guitar. Most of all I love animals, especially cats and I spend a lot of time acquiring new knowledge about behavior, genetics and general health. At the moment I'm working at an animalhospital as a nurse-student - the most exciting job I can ever imagine! Every day comes with new challenges and new things to learn.
